About This Route

What makes the Keys leg different.

Orlando to the Keys is two very different drives stitched together. The first 250 miles are Turnpike — fast, predictable, uneventful. The last 113 are the Overseas Highway, two lanes across 42 bridges with no way around a backup.

Most quotes for this lane are priced as though the whole trip is highway. It isn’t, and that’s where schedules slip. A carrier that treats the Keys portion as an afterthought arrives at Florida City having budgeted an hour for what can take three.

We price and schedule the two halves separately, because they behave differently. It’s also why we can commit to a date on this route instead of handing you a window and hoping.

The last 113 miles are the whole job.

Any carrier can run the Turnpike. The Keys leg is where this route is won or lost, and it’s the part we built the company around.

No Homestead handoff

We don’t ask you to drive to the mainland to collect your vehicle. Delivery is your Keys address.

Mile-marker planning

Timing

When to book this route.

The Keys run on a calendar most mainland carriers never learn. Here’s what actually affects your date.

Dec – Apr

Season

Peak demand both directions. Book further ahead — this is when the lane is busiest and the highway is slowest.

Jun – Nov

Hurricane season

Bridge closures and evacuation orders can stop transport entirely. We reschedule rather than risk a load.

Late July

Lobster mini-season

Traffic on US-1 becomes genuinely difficult for two days. Worth planning around.

Common Questions

Orlando to the Keys, answered.

How long does Orlando to Key West take?
About 370 miles. The Turnpike portion moves quickly; the 113 miles of Overseas Highway do not. Transit is typically one to two days depending on pickup timing and season. You’ll get a specific date.
Can you pick up anywhere in the Orlando metro?
Yes — Orlando proper plus Kissimmee, Winter Park, Sanford, Lake Nona, Clermont and the surrounding areas. Door-to-door wherever access and local rules allow.
What if my Keys address is hard to reach?
Tell us the address when you book. Some Lower Keys and Old Town addresses won’t take a full-size transporter, and we plan the final approach in advance rather than improvising on arrival.
Is the Keys leg subcontracted?
No. Florida routes run start to finish on our own trucks. Only out-of-state routes involve a partner carrier.
Do you ship classic and luxury vehicles?
Yes, enclosed transport is available on this lane. Worth considering given the salt exposure on the Overseas Highway.
